How To Terminate BNC Connectors

How to terminate BNC connectors? But what are they actually? The BNC popularly known as Bayonet Neill-Concelman is a very useful RF connector. It is used to terminate coaxial cable. It is among several existing radio frequency connectors in the market. The name 'BNC' is derived from a combination of two things i.e. the technology employed for connection and names of the two inventors associated with this device. The inventors Paul Neill of Bell Labs and Carl Concelman developed this type of connector which employs bayonet mount physical connector for the purpose of locking. BNC configuration has been specifically done for processing both analog and digital interface transmissions. Transmissions can be both audio and video.

BNC connector is very popular way of terminating coaxial cables of radio frequency signals. Now a question arises in our mind, how to terminate BNC connectors? We may need to crimp them for Ethernet networks. This article will help you in learning how to terminate BNC connectors. First of all you need following things: coaxial cable, BNC connector, crimp ferrule, cable stripper, and BNC crimping tool. These ingredients are essential to terminate BNC connectors. Below is the process i.e. how to perform it:

- Slit the cable's end. Make a very clean and swift 90 degree cut through the cable along with the cut portion of cable stripper. Now, over the cable's end place a quantity of crimp ferrule and start sliding it down the coaxial cable till the end it's needed.

- Then without damaging other layers remove 5/16th inch of the sheath from end of the cable. Copper braiding should be folded back from inner sheath and pulled back. This is done to fit copper braiding snugly over periphery of the sheath.

- Now slit the exposed sheath of inner area from rest 1/4th inch of cable. But be careful that you don't cut the inner core of copper braiding. By doing so you will expose 1/4th inch of copper core. Now carefully slide the copper core's end to an angle of 45 degree but without cutting more than required.

- Slide the BNC connector into the end of coaxial cable till the point at which outer sheath gets flushed with inner face of the connector. The exposed copper braid should be folded back over connector and cable should be firmly seated within the BNC connector.

- Lastly, slide crimp ferrule onto the cable and start pushing it over connector and folded braiding till the point possible. Then, crimp with appropriate tool.

How To Start Writing an Essay The Five Paragraph Essay Model Shows The Way

If you're trying to write an essay, this five paragraph model might help get you started. The sample essay is about computers. The first paragraph introduces the topic.

Paragraph 1: Introduces the topic

Example

Computer technology has significantly changed how we live and how we work. At least, that's what my parents tell me. I'm too young to know what life was like for them without computers. I know only how computers are part of my life.

Now that you've introduced the topic, your next step is to discuss your first idea.

Paragraph 2: One idea

Example

When my parents were my age, computers were rare. My mother had to write letters or telephone when she wanted to talk to her cousin in Los Angeles. I can only imagine sending letters and waiting for weeks to receive a reply. Computers make our lives easier. If I could not use computers, I could not communicate with others as easily.

You've introduced one idea. The next paragraph introduces a second idea.

Paragraph 3: Another idea

Example

However there are disadvantages that computer use can cause. We can spend too much time online and neglect other important tasks such as studying. I used to spend so many hours using my computer and communicating with others that I sometimes missed exams. I often used the computer to chat, which was so interesting that I did not leave myself enough time to study. In a way, computers taught me to discipline myself and manage my time.

The next paragraph introduces another idea. Notice that each idea has examples and information.

Paragraph 4: A third idea

Example

Computers have introduced me to the world outside Japan. I have a penpal in San Francisco and another in Thailand. With both pals, I use English. These email exchanges have helped me to improve my English writing. Plus I enjoy learning about cable cars in San Francisco and the variety of bananas in Thailand.

Now you're going to finish your essay. The last paragraph is simply a summary of some of what you've already said.

Paragraph 5: Conclusion

Example

Computers have enriched my life. I know people in San Francisco and in Bangkok, people I would not have known without my computer. I have learned to discipline my time use and I have enjoyed myself. I cannot imagine my life without a computer.

One way of looking at writing is to think of your writing as a person. You're taking this person to a party. You arrive at the party and introduce your friend (Paragraph 1). Your friend gets into conversations (Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4). At the end of the evening, you and your friend go home and your friend summarizes the party (Paragraph 5). If looking at the paragraphs in that way helps you, terrific. If it does not, perhaps you could create an image for yourself that might work.

Here's the complete essay.

How to Start a Wholesale Distribution Business from Scratch

Jorge@DistributionBiz.com.

Best regards

Jorge Olson
http://www.ShotgunMarketing.com

Have you ever thought of starting a wholesale distribution
business? Maybe you're ready for a new challenge or have
realized the profits that you can make when you deal with
larger quantities of product. In any case, you need to
know what to do in order to be successful.

The first thing that you want to do is choose the products
that you will be selling to retailers. You may want to
choose products that you already know something about in
order to use that expertise to choose quality products that
you can then sell and make profit from. Make sure that you
are testing the products prior to purchasing larger
quantities. You want to be sure that you are always
selling a superior product.

These products will need to be stored somewhere, so
choosing a warehouse is the next step in your wholesale
business. You need to choose an area that is both secure
and easy to manage. You might want to consider renting a
space or using your own facilities if they are large
enough. Determine how much the cost of the warehouse will
be in terms of square footage and make sure that you are
comparing multiple warehouses to ensure that you're getting
the best deal.

You might also want to consider setting up your warehouse
in one of the southwestern states in the U.S. as this will
allow you to be accessible more easily from Mexico or South
America ? where manufacturing is expected to skyrocket in
the next few years. This will not only be more efficient,
but it can also cut down your distribution costs.

To start off right, you will want to create a system that
will allow you to monitor the progress of your products
from the manufacturer all the way to the customers. This
can be called an order flow system. To build an effective
strategy in these areas, you will want to coordinate
product movement within the warehouse as well as the
movements into the warehouse. This can be achieved through
the use of computer systems that monitor package label
numbers.

You will also want to establish a working system of moving
the products from the trucks into your warehouse ? without
damaging anything along the way. Try to envision how the
shipments will come in to determine where you will need to
set up inventory lists for double checking the incoming
products as well as areas for products to be packed and
sent to customers.

And since money is truly everything in business, you will
want to establish yourself as a competitive wholesaler by
offering something that your competitors do not: easy
payment terms for buyers. By allowing your customers the
ability to extend their payments or have higher credit
limits, you will show how your services might be the better
choice for their needs.

If you're able, you might want to consider looking at other
wholesaler businesses to see if there are any tips that you
might want to consider along the way. Talk with the owners
to see if you can meet with them to ask about setting up
and maintaining your business. If you find another
wholesaler that distributes different products than you do,
you may be able to help each other successful as well.

How to Start a Computer Repair Business

There are very few people that don't have computers in this day and agewhich means that having certain technical skills, such as the ability to repair or build computers, can be incredibly handy. If you happen to possess such a rare set of skills, then you may be thinking about starting a computer repair business. However, it's important to understand that it takes a lot of work to build a computer repair business from the ground up, which is why you may want to consider investing in a franchise instead.

Computer Repair Startups vs. Computer Repair Franchises

If your want to own and operate a computer repair business, then you've got two optionsyou can start your own computer repair shop and build it from the ground up, or your become a franchise and become part of a major brand.

Big brands in the computer repair industry are selling the rights to operate under their name to other entrepreneurs. These computer repair franchise opportunities are typically a safer investment from a business point of view. This is because you'll be working with an already established brandand technically, you won't even have to have any repair skills yourself. You can focus solely on the management side. Of course, you'll have to undergo training to get a basic understanding of the computer repair services you'll be offering, but most companies will offer this to new owners.

However, if you're considering building your own computer repair business, then you'll most likely have to take a much different route to doing so.

Building Your Own Computer Repair Business

The following are some of the tips you'll want to keep in mind when planning your own computer repair business.

Identify your strengths and weaknesses - You may have excellent technical skills, but you may lack in business acumen. Or, perhaps you have both, but you lack social skills. All three of these are extremely important when it comes to running your own business. Knowing where your strengths lie ahead of time will allow you to focus on those while knowing what your weaknesses are will give you a chance to figure out how to overcome them.
Determine who your customer base is - Computer repair is a very broad service. Having a niche makes it easier to corner that part of the market. For example, you could focus on repairing computer systems for local businesses. Or you could focus on repairing Apple computers. By emphasizing a specialty service, it will make marketing and sales a lot easier.
Set your rates properly - If your rates are too high, you'll scare away potential customers. But if they're too low, you may not make enough money. Don't set them low in order to hook new customers either. Once you try to raise those rates, you'll risk losing those customers as well as risk hurting your reputation. Do your research to determine the proper value of your services.
Market your business - Running a few ads in the local paper isn't going to cut it. As a startup, you need to invest in marketing to help increase awareness of your business. Focus on digital marketing by setting up a website, creating a social media presence, creating valuable content enriched by SEO keywords and engaging with your customers online. Keep in mind that marketing is something that has to be done on a daily basis for it to be effective.
Gather inventory - As a computer repair service, you may want to sell used computers or parts. You'll also want plenty of replacement components that can be used for computer repairs. If you have a specialized service, it will be easier to keep an inventory of the parts you might need. If your inventory is lacking, computer repairs could end up taking a while since you'll have to wait around for parts that you've had to order from other sources.
Hire the right staff - You're going to need employees that are both computer savvy and sociable. An employee that can repair any type of computer isn't going to very valuable if they are rude to your customers, after all. Your business could sink or swim based on your staff.

There are a lot of things to consider when it comes to opening up your own computer repair business. While it's certainly possible, many independent computer repair shops end up failing because their owners are unable to juggle all of these responsibilities effectively. If you want to run a computer repair service, but you don't want the risk involved with building one from the ground up, consider investing in a computer repair franchise instead.

How to Solve the JavascriptVoid(0) Problem

Many internet users face this problem when they try clicking a link and see this error code on the status bar of the browser which doesn't allow the link to work. It is actually an error message that occasionally appears in a web browser when you face a problem loading a JavaScript from a webpage. Though this error message pops up on various occasions but the actual reasons could be different for different users, and resolving these problems is necessary by knowing the most possible reasons for this error message.

1. The major cause of this error message is the Popup blocker blocking the JavaScript while stopping the windows which open up as the advertisements on various sites. Resolving this problem involves making changes in the preferences of the popup blocker based on your requirements and thus disabling the popup blocker. One can even download another anti popup software instead or can read the product reviews of popup blockers to assess if they really cause these error messages.

2. The malfunctioning of the web proxy servers (which are used for accessing the various banned websites) can also block the various scripts in the process. This problem can be avoided by not using the proxy server itself or using a proxy server that functions better and do not interfere in the downloading of various scripts. Also check for the compatibility of the proxy server with various web pages and scripts.
An improperly written JavaScript could also lead to this error message. The solution lies in notifying this error to the webmaster who in turn must rewrite the JavaScript.

3. The JavaScript might be disabled in your browsers, and this needs to be enabled. To enable this in IE, go to scripting tab of the security option in the Tools menu under the internet options; and to enable this in Firefox, go to Tools menu and enable the JavaScript option in Web features.

4. Web browser implementation of JavaScript might also be broken in some cases, and this requires the switching or simply the up gradation of your web browser.

There is this simple way where you can really avoid "javascript:void(0)" error message at the first instance because we know that this "javascript:void(0)" can cause certain browsers to really present your web pages in unusual ways, and since the "javascript:void(0)" statement is often occurred when a link has no URL attached to it, and the browser doesn't understand how to react and returns the error message. So for this, instead use the "return false;" statement to let the browser not to look for the URL. Try opening the document in any text editor; Locate the "javascript:void(0)" references within the document, Replace the links with the (#) symbol with the syntax "

How To Shop For A Second-hand Desktop

A desktop computer has become and indispensable piece of equipment in every home today. From work-related tasks, entertainment, school assignments or communicating from across the globe - everything is made simpler and easier.

If you wish to acquire a computer but you're on a tight budget, fret not. Purchasing a second-hand machine is the answer to your solution. Now you might say: "isn't it a waste of money to invest on a computer about to conk out soon?" While a second-hand computer is way cheaper than a brand new-one, it doesn't necessarily mean it's on the verge of collapse.

That's why when shopping around for a second-hand computer, there are a few things you need to consider. With a little time and patience, you can buy a cheap desktop that's been used, but can still be enjoyed.

The very first step when purchasing a second-hand computer is finding where to buy one. Don't worry about having a difficult time shopping for it, as there are a lot of places where it's available. If you have plenty of free time, you can drop by electronics or PC stores selling used ones. You can ask around for a reputable store - perhaps one of your friends or co-workers can recommend one.

You can also check out auction sites on the internet. And while you're on the internet, try looking for personal ads from people selling their used computer. If you're shopping for it online, make sure you carefully read details so you know what you're getting yourself into. Never be afraid to contact the owner or seller for other vital information.

After deciding where to buy one more conveniently, it's time to focus on what you're getting. First, try to purchase one that has a familiar and reputable brand name. This is a guarantee that you can easily find additional parts compatible with the computer, should there's a need for it.

Then ask what exactly you will get with the second-hand desktop. Does it come complete with a mouse, speakers, keyboard and other peripherals? Dose it have sound and video cards, and a working operating system? How big is the hard drive and how fast is the memory? The owner of the used PC should be able to answer such questions intelligently. You need to know the worth of what you're paying for.

Testing the second-hand machine may not be possible when purchasing it online, so check if any warranty may be issued. But when shopping at a land-based store, ask the salesperson to run it. Check if it works as smoothly as possible. Even if you're getting a second-hand desktop, it should still be worth your every penny.

How To Set Up A Wireless Network Using Satellite Internet Service

If you live in the rural U.S. and can't get high speed Internet access, satellite Internet service will provide you the best option to surf the net at broadband speeds. In addition to being able to get broadband speeds, you are not just limited to one coax cable connecting one computer. You have the ability to go wireless. You can network your home or office computers easier, and you can use the Internet on several computers at the same time.

The first step to establishing your wireless network is to choose a reliable satellite Internet service provider. Two-way satellite Internet service offers you the most efficient service. The three best companies satellite internet access companies are Starband, Hughesnet and my favorite Wildblue. There are a couple of one-way service providers but I would stay away from them. Unless you want to tie up you phone line and want other headaches!

After you have selected a satellite Internet service provider you will want to go out a purchase the necessary equipment to go wireless. If you don't have a computer that has an internal wireless networking card already built in then, you will want to either buy one that does, or you will want to buy a wireless network adapter. After you have established the network card you will need a wireless router. I would stick with the known brands such as linksys, Netgear or D-link. These three brands are dependable and easy to set up.

After your satellite Internet service has been installed you will be ready to connect your wireless network. Start by connecting your satellite Internet modem to the router. The router will then send signals to your computer via infrared signals. Configure your router following the instructions that came with your router.

If you are using a wireless network adapter you will want to plug this into a USB port in your computer. If your computer came with an internal wireless card you should receive the signal through the card. If you purchased your router before installation, most installers will assist you in setting up your router. If not, just follow the instructions per the router manual. It's pretty simple!

There is one thing to keep in mind. When two or more people are using the Internet at one time, the Internet connection speed is shared. So if you subscribe to a service using 512k speeds, you both could be splitting the speed. With this in mind be selective when choosing your satellite Internet Service plans. You will all then be happier with your satellite Internet service in the end.

Setting up a wireless system with your satellite Internet service will provide you with the speed that you have been lacking with the flexibility to share the connection with family or co-workers. It offers a great combination!
